Trust: New Bottom Line

but you will live in torment if you don't trust enough."

Ready to Take Off

So often in my consulting work, I find myself expressing a simple truth: "All you need to do is trust." Or perhaps I will express this as "Trust, just trust."

Simple, true statements and beliefs such as these are especially important these days. While I call them simple, I acknowledge that they are not necessarily easy to embody I consider that humanity is moving away from an old paradigm of proving the "facts" in conversations, worshiping the "bottom line" in financial affairs, and touching something concrete and claiming it is "real." The new paradigm requires you to trust in something different from money and details and facts and hard evidence. As you shift your trust to less visible aspects of your experience, you shift your own consciousness. This shifting consciousness allows the new paradigm to manifest more solidly.

The new paradigm has trust at its core. At this core with trust are truth and integrity and peace and joy and prosperity and freedom, as well as other values.

Who Can I Trust?

Often I hear a statement something like, "He let me down, I can't trust him any more." Or I hear a question like, "Do you think I can trust her?"

I do not feel that the true issue is trusting someone else. Someone's trustworthiness may, indeed, be a subject that needs to be explored for certain decisions. But I feel the real issue is trusting yourself. You see, when I trust myself, I know when someone else is trustworthy. When I look inside myself for answers or direction, I know when I can trust information from outside myself. My job is to trust myself.

As you trust from the inside, everyone and everything finds its rightful place. As your consciousness lifts, you can perceive the universe as an integrated, interconnected whole. As you begin to perceive the Universe as a whole — even if you spot only a slight glimmer of this truth — your consciousness lifts still further.

Many persons in the world deserve your trust. In my personal experience, I find these persons and attract them into my own life most easily when I live from a place of trusting myself. And, the reverse is also true: when I feel untrusting of myself or lacking in confidence, I tend to attract others who are not trusting or trustworthy.

Trust has a distinct and discernible vibration. Likely at times you have had to articulate the level of trust you place in someone. Usually the process is to provide data to justify a feeling. In the end, you might say "I just don't trust her." Or, "I just know I can trust him." Trust comes from a state of intuitive knowing; it is not a fact-based phenomenon.

This is the paradigm shift: to embody a belief and a trust in the invisible and recognize that the visible, tangible world is a transient one. The visible, tangible world is manifested from the invisible, from Spirit.

The Perfect Universe

The Universe is perfect. It may not feel that way when you live in snap-shot consciousness. When you are focused on a specific event or condition, you tend to believe that the temporary drama in which you find yourself is the whole, yet it is only part of the whole. When you let in more and more parts or snap-shots, you expand your consciousness and your awareness of the depth and breadth of reality. From a snap-shot consciousness, you move to a series-of-snap-shots consciousness, and from there to a video-tape consciousness.

As you lift your awareness to more of a video-tape consciousness, you recognize that life is more than just the current situation in which you find yourself. The video tape can be changed, rewound, and fast forwarded. It is pliable and subject to many interpretations.

You move from the video-tape consciousness into a knowing state that all is in harmony with everything else. Just as the symphony conductor knows that musical dissonance and varying rhythms and different volumes add interest to a piece, you recognize that your life has cycles and nuances that teach you about the whole.

Angel of Trust

Several years ago, I led a group guided visualization during which the Angel of Trust made its presence known. Individuals in this on-going group had been struggling with a variety of challenges. The journey with the Angel of Trust was a spiritual initiation, a type of visualization I am directed from Spirit to do from time to time.

All group members reported powerful experiences, some in detail and some, overwhelmed by the depth of the journey, could not speak. As the group continued to meet, individuals referred back to that experience often. Most credit the initiation and the Angel of Trust with their ability to trust more in their lives.

The Esoteric and the Practical

Sometimes my words seem esoteric or strange or "way out there." Yet, I am intensely practical. I know that it is possible to live lives filled with a wide range of experiences that are fulfilling and joyous.

When your life does not appear as you want, trust is not an option, but a requirement to live fully. When circumstances seem tough or confusing or unclear, these are the times when trust is most needed. It is easy to trust when circumstances are comfortable and all the details known.

New Bottom Line

The bottom line in the new paradigm is Trust.
