When you were an infant, your world was small. It included your crib, places big people carried you, language that sounded strange to your ears, and a variety of body sensations. Your world was very small with nearly everyone bigger than you.
As you grew older, you got bigger. So did your world. Boundaries and definitions changed. Books and school and other opportunities provided experiences of expansion. And then you grew big enough to recognize that these dynamics created another set of limitations. Childhood toys were replaced by more mature and elaborate toys.
Now that you're an adult, how big is your world? Your family, your job, airplanes that take you to other places quickly, exposure to the media, the Internet, and other experiences continue to expand your world. In a culture that's dominated by the media the question is, how big is the world of those who present the news or other programming to you?
Each morning you awaken to a new day, a new world. How big do you want today's world to be? One of the remarkable things about this world is that you get to choose how big you want it to be. The size and shape of your world are dependent on your focus.
As you let go of immature beliefs and things, you grow and re-focus your world. Outdated beliefs keep you small. Resentments narrow your view. Fears limit your experiences. Doubts stop your progress. However, relaxing enlarges your world.
So, how big is your world? How big do you want your world to be? How big can it be?
